| Purpose: |
A public hearing to present the anticipated social,
economic and environmental effects of proposed improvements to State
Highway (SH) 114 (John W. Carpenter Freeway) in the City of Irving.

| Scope: |
The project limits extend along SH 114:
- 5.9 miles from approximately 0.208 mile east of
International Parkway to Spur 348
- 4.7 miles from Spur 348 to east of Rochelle Boulevard
- 1.9 miles from 0.083 mile east of Rochelle Boulevard to
0.646 mile west of Tom Braniff Drive
- 1. 5 miles from 0.23 mile west of Tom Braniff Drive to
SH 183
- 1 mile from Loop 12 from south of Texas Plaza Drive to
northeast of SH 114
- Project limits from Tom Braniff Drive to SH 183 and Loop
12 from south of Texas Plaza Drive to northeast of SH 114
consist of the SH 114/Loop 12 interchange.

| Description: |
Proposed improvements include:
- Widening the existing 4 to 6-lane roadway to a 6 to
8-lane roadway
- 4-laned (2 lanes in each direction) tolled concurrent
managed high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes
- Existing 2-lane frontage roads will be widened to 3
lanes
- Construction of new 3-lane frontage roads in sections
that currently do not have them
- Construction of direct connectors to major cross-roads
