Loop 224 Nacogdoches North Project - Alternatives
We are studying alternatives to improve the safety and mobility in the area
of Loop 224 from US 59 to Business US 59 in north Nacogdoches:
Alternative 1
- Construct a raised concrete curb median from US 59 to Business US 59
- Construct an additional travel lane in each direction resulting in a
four-lane facility with paved shoulders
- Construct a four-lane overpass for Loop 224 over Business US 59
- Construct two-lane frontage roads at Business US 59
Alternative 2
- Construct a depressed grass ditch median from US 59 to Business US 59
- Resurface the two existing Loop 224 lanes
- Construct two new travel lanes off of the existing Loop 224 pavement
resulting in a four-lane facility with paved shoulders
- Construct a four-lane overpass for Loop 224 over Business US 59
- Construct two-lane frontage roads at Business US 59
Timeframe
A construction date for the project will be determined when funds are
available.
